The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the validity of a plea challenging the speedy acquittal of 11 convicts in the 2002 Gujarat riots case and the rape case. SC has set aside the acquittal of 11 convicts. Eleven people will return to jail. The court said the state of Gujarat is not able to pass a mercy order in the case.
