The Supreme Court has observed that Muslim women can seek maintenance from their husbands under Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). BJP leader Mohsin Raza welcomed the decision, highlighting its importance for the rights of divorced Muslim women. "We welcome this decision of the Supreme Court. A decision has come for all divorced Muslim women. They too have a right to live, where will they go when you divorce and abandon them, and do not provide them maintenance?" Raza stated. He assured that under the PM Modi-led NDA government, such decisions will not be overturned, emphasizing that this is a decision in the public interest. The ruling aims to provide financial security and uphold the dignity of divorced Muslim women.
