Jiah Khan suicide case: Sooraj Pancholi released

BY  A STAFF REPORTER: A special CBI court in Mumbai pronounced the verdict in the Zia Khan case. Actor Sooraj Pancholi acquitted in Jiah Khan's suicide case In June 2013, 25-year-old actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her home in Mumbai. Her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was accused of abetment to suicide.

Sooraj Pancholi, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was arrested on the basis of a six-page letter written by Jiah Khan and a case was registered against him for "abetment to suicide". In the note, Jiah Khan writes about "trauma and torture" at the hands of her boyfriend (not named in the letter). Sooraj Pancholi was arrested by the Juhu police after the suicide note of the actress was recovered. However, Sooraj Pancholi was later released on bail in the case. Jiah Khan's mother claimed that her daughter was murdered. Then in 2014, the responsibility of unraveling the murder mystery of Jiah Khan fell on the CBI.
