Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has strongly criticized YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia over his remarks on India’s Got Latent, calling for accountability and action against the use of abusive language under the guise of comedy.
"Any abusive language in the name of comedy content that crosses limits is not acceptable to the country. What level are we stooping to? You get a platform, that doesn't mean that you will utter anything," Chaturvedi said.
Highlighting Allahbadia’s influence, she pointed out that he has millions of subscribers and has hosted several top political figures on his podcast, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had even awarded him.

"He is someone with millions of subscribers. Every political leader has sat in his podcast. The PM has given him an award... As a member of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, I will raise this issue," she added.
The controversy has sparked a wider debate on freedom of expression vs. responsible content creation in the digital space. Chaturvedi’s statement suggests that government scrutiny on online platforms may increase, particularly concerning content that crosses ethical boundaries.
