Ernakulam, Kerala: Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor has reiterated his long-held commitment to national service, stating that his guiding philosophy has always been to put the nation first—regardless of whether he is working within or outside the political sphere.
Speaking during an event in Ernakulam, Tharoor reflected on his decision to return to India after years of international service, primarily with the United Nations, where he held senior diplomatic positions. “Nation first has always been my philosophy. I came back to India after many years of international service only to serve the country,” he said.
Tharoor emphasized that public service remains at the heart of his efforts. “Whatever way I can do that, through politics or outside politics, I will try to do that,” he added, indicating a broader vision for contributing to India’s progress beyond formal political roles.
