Delhi: Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has strongly criticized the BJP over the repeated attacks on former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal, stating that the party's leadership has been targeting him in several instances. Bharadwaj accused the BJP of using violence to silence political opposition, while claiming that the law and order situation in Delhi has deteriorated under the current administration.
In a media statement, Bharadwaj said, "BJP leaders carry out rallies in all states, and they are never attacked. But there are continuous attacks on Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP attacked him in Nangloi, he was attacked in Chhatarpur... The law and order in Delhi have collapsed, and the central government and the Home Minister are not doing anything."
The minister’s remarks came in the wake of the most recent incident where Kejriwal was allegedly attacked during a visit to a district in Delhi. Bharadwaj further questioned the inaction of the central government and the Home Minister, asserting that their failure to address these attacks highlights the government's negligence in ensuring the safety of its citizens, especially elected leaders.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been vocal about what it calls a politically motivated campaign against Kejriwal, pointing to similar attacks on the Delhi CM in the past. The party has urged the central government to take swift action against the perpetrators and restore order.
As the controversy intensifies, political leaders from both parties are likely to escalate their statements in the coming days, with the issue of law and order becoming a key topic in the ongoing political discourse.
