Delhi: BJP MP Sambit Patra on Wednesday launched a sharp rebuke against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh over their remarks concerning reports of the United States inviting Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. Patra accused the Congress of habitually undermining India’s global stature in a bid to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Jairam Ramesh and Rahul Gandhi are always in a hurry to put India in the dock in the name of attacking PM Modi,” Patra said, speaking to reporters in the national capital. “They said the same things about the G7. But where will they hide their faces regarding that?” he asked, referring to India's recent participation in the G7 Summit and its growing international engagement.
Patra dismissed the Congress criticism as baseless and politically motivated. “There is no need to take them seriously. Today, India stands very high on the global platform,” he asserted, highlighting what he described as India’s rising diplomatic and strategic profile under the Modi government.
