New Delhi: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday lauded the success of a skill development programme tailored for Sikh youths, organised under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Speaking at an interaction event with members of the Sikh community, Rijiju said the initiative has emerged as one of the most effective programmes for minority communities in recent years.
The Minister highlighted that the programme, supported by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee in collaboration with the Ministry, is the first of its kind since India’s independence. Designed to enhance employability and entrepreneurship skills, the training seeks to provide participants with practical capabilities aligned with market demands.
Rijiju also shared that selected Sikh youths from the programme will attend the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort as special guests of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed confidence that such initiatives will not only boost employment prospects but also strengthen community participation in national development.
