New Delhi: In the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, defence expert Major General (retired) PK Sehgal has asserted that India will deliver a military response at a time and place of its choosing, making it clear that the country will not allow the attack to go unanswered. Emphasizing a multi-dimensional approach, Sehgal outlined a strategy that includes economic, diplomatic, political, and military pressure on Pakistan.
“India has to teach Pakistan a lesson that it never forgets,” said Maj Gen Sehgal. “Our Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has categorically said that retaliation will take place at a time and place of our choosing—and it will take place.”
The retired general suggested that the upcoming response could be complex and unpredictable. “There could be multiple strikes—on air bases, against militants, or even naval strikes in the Arabian Sea,” he said, adding, “It is very important to keep the enemy guessing.”
Sehgal didn’t mince words when attributing blame for the attack. “The entire operation, to my mind, was masterminded by the Pakistani army, the Pakistani establishment, ISI, and terrorist organisations,” he stated.
He also emphasized the broader goal of diplomatic and political isolation of Pakistan on the global stage. “We will make sure Pakistan stands totally isolated. The message must be clear—India will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism,” he asserted.
