Additional Director General Rakesh Pal elevated as DG, Coast Guard

By A Staff Reporter: The government appointed Rakesh Pal as the director general of Coast Guard in a move considered of significant importance. Pal was serving as additional director general of Coast Guard and was widely considered to be the fittest candidate to fill in the top post. Director General Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM joined the Indian Coast Guard on 16 Jan 1989. The Flag Officer is an alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy, Goa. He is trained in Gunnery & Weapons System and holds the credit of being the flag bearer for the specialization.
