Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday made a compelling call to transform India’s defence industry into a globally respected brand, urging stakeholders to focus not just on product development but also on building enduring brand trust. Speaking at a high-level gathering, Singh underscored that in today’s competitive and often confusing markets, brand value matters as much as technical specifications.

“In today's world, it's not just about the product, but a strong brand value is essential,” he stated. Highlighting the issue of asymmetric information in global markets, Singh pointed out that consumers often face uncertainty. “In such a scenario, only that brand succeeds which instills trust through consistent quality and reliability.”

This, he emphasized, is where India must step up. “We need to build the Indian Defence industry into a strong and trusted brand,” Singh said, positioning the idea as a strategic imperative. He urged industry leaders and innovators to aim for nothing less than a “robust, world-leading, and state-of-the-art ‘Brand INDIA’.”
