New Delhi — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed profound grief over the passing of Dr. K. Kasturirangan, remembering him as a visionary who played a defining role in shaping India’s space program. In a heartfelt tribute, Singh said Dr. Kasturirangan’s remarkable contributions to space technology will be remembered for generations to come.
"Dr. K. Kasturirangan will be remembered for his remarkable efforts and contribution in the field of space technology in India. He was one of the chief architects of India’s Space Programme," Singh said in a statement. "Under his leadership, India embarked on a path of self-reliance in space program and space technology."

Dr. Kasturirangan, a renowned space scientist, was closely associated with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). His work was instrumental in the success of several satellite launches that laid the foundation for India’s independent space capabilities. His leadership and technical acumen helped steer India's space missions towards global recognition.
Singh extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and concluded his message with a solemn "Om Shanti."
