Berrechid (Morocco): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh underlined India’s growing defence manufacturing capabilities while addressing the inauguration of Tata Advanced Systems Maroc’s new facility in Berrechid.

Spread across 20,000 square metres, the plant will produce an advanced armoured combat vehicle that combines enhanced mobility, protection, and firepower. Singh noted that the platform is being developed in collaboration with India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), underscoring the strength of India’s indigenous research and development ecosystem.

“This facility is a testimony to the indigenous defence technology and the R&D ecosystem that India has recently developed,” Singh remarked, emphasizing that the project reflects the maturing of India’s self-reliant defence sector.
