Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has praised the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy for successfully conducting the combat firing of the indigenously designed and developed Multi-Influence Ground Mine (MIGM), with reduced explosive charges. The successful test is a significant achievement in strengthening India’s undersea warfare capabilities.

In his statement, Rajnath Singh expressed his compliments to the DRDO, the Indian Navy, and the associated industries involved in the development of this advanced system. He highlighted that the MIGM would further enhance the Indian Navy's ability to tackle emerging threats in the underwater domain.

“This achievement will greatly enhance the undersea warfare capabilities of the Indian Navy,” said Rajnath Singh, emphasizing the strategic importance of the MIGM in India's naval defense strategy.

The MIGM is designed as an advanced mine-laying system to neutralize underwater threats, marking a major step in India’s efforts to bolster its defense infrastructure with indigenous technologies. The successful development and testing of the system demonstrate India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing, reducing dependence on foreign-made systems.
