On the occasion of Civil Services Day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended his greetings to civil servants across the country, acknowledging their critical role in driving India’s development and ensuring public welfare.
Taking to social media, Singh said, “Greetings and warm wishes to all civil servants and their families on Civil Services Day. They have been playing an important role in furthering India’s progress and ensuring the citizen welfare.”

He went on to express hope that the occasion would inspire officers to recommit themselves to the ideals of public service. “May this day inspire them to continue serving the nation with renewed zeal and excellence,” he added.
Civil Services Day, observed annually on April 21, commemorates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s historic address to administrative officers in 1947, in which he termed them the “Steel Frame of India.” The day serves as a platform to reflect on the values of integrity, accountability, and service, and to recognize outstanding contributions by officers across the country.
