Rajnath Singh Envisions Uttar Pradesh as Global Defense Hub with Brahmos Facility

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed his vision for Uttar Pradesh to become one of the top destinations for defense production and export globally. In his remarks at the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Brahmos integration and testing facility, Singh emphasized the significance of the project as a major milestone for the state’s defense sector.

“Our dream is that Uttar Pradesh be recognized as one of the top defense production and export destinations in the world,” said Singh. The new Brahmos facility, which is not only the largest of its kind in Uttar Pradesh but also the entire country, is expected to play a pivotal role in this vision. Singh highlighted that the facility will serve as the cornerstone of the UP Defense Corridor, marking the state’s strategic contribution to India's defense manufacturing capabilities.

“This facility will also strengthen India’s efforts towards self-reliance in the defense sector,” he added, underscoring the government’s commitment to reducing dependence on imports and boosting indigenous defense production.
