Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh attended the unveiling ceremony of a statue dedicated to the legendary warrior Maharana Pratap at Chatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra today. In his speech, Singh paid tribute to the immense sacrifices made by Maharana Pratap in defense of his motherland, underscoring the warrior's legacy of valor, sacrifice, and patriotism.

“Maharana Pratap was a legendary warrior who sacrificed everything—from the comfort and luxury of royalty to political power, and even basic necessities of life—to protect his motherland's honour, dignity and self-respect,” Singh said. He emphasized that the statue was not just a sculpture but a "living inspiration" for future generations, symbolizing the eternal values of bravery and patriotism.

Singh also connected Maharana Pratap’s contributions to the broader historical context of the Maharashtra's warrior culture, pointing out that the state gave birth to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “Maharashtra is the land of valor which has given birth to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Even Shivaji Maharaj drew inspiration from Maharana Pratap,” he noted.
