New Delhi: The Indian Railways is making massive preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, expecting to transport around 40 crore people to the grand religious event. Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity for the Railway Board, outlined the plans, emphasizing the theme of "Divya Kumbh, Bhavya Kumbh, Digital Maha Kumbh."

Speaking to the media, Kumar stated, “The railways is working tirelessly with the slogan of 'Divya Kumbh, Bhavya Kumbh, Digital Maha Kumbh'. Around 40 crore people are expected to reach the event, and we have planned to run 13,000 trains during the Kumbh to ensure smooth transportation.”

Key preparations include enhanced passenger facilities at major stations near the Kumbh Mela site. Amenities such as seating, sanitation, and information services have been significantly upgraded to manage the massive influx of pilgrims.

Additionally, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) will be deployed in large numbers to ensure the safety and security of passengers. Kumar also highlighted the increased focus on digital innovations, with digital ticketing being promoted to streamline the travel experience.

“To further ease the process, ticket counters will also be opened directly in the Kumbh area to facilitate passengers,” Kumar added.
