Railway ministry focuses on improving wheel, axle and wheel set

The railway ministry is laying out special emphasis on production of wheel, axle and wheel sets for the safety of the rake and smooth running of fast moving express trains.

The Rail Wheel Factory in Bangalore is getting a face lift and Archana Joshi has been specially posted as General Manager to take it to international standards. The RWF had successfully integrated ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 system standard. The spares are utilised for domestic supply to non railway customers as well as Indian railways.

Joshi who had a very successful tenure in Indian railways, is tasked with pushing up the standards further and make it more safe and profitable. Sources close to indian railways suggested that Joshi will take charge shortly.
