Surat, Gujarat – Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday provided an update on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, highlighting progress on the first operational section between Surat and Bilimora, covering approximately 50 km.
Speaking at an event in Surat, Vaishnaw said, “The work is progressing very well, with track installation also moving at good speed. Today, the first turnout is being installed, which is where two tracks join or separate.” He added that the high-speed rail will have an average speed of 320 kmph and a maximum speed of 350 kmph.
The minister also outlined expected travel times for passengers once the line becomes operational. The journey from Mumbai to Ahmedabad is projected to take 2 hours and 7 minutes, while travel from Surat to Ahmedabad and Surat to Mumbai is estimated at 1 hour each
