Congress party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which started from Manipur on January 14 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, finally entered Assam today. Starting from Sivasagar district, the yatra will pass through 17 districts of Assam covering a distance of 833 km. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which began ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, has a special focus on Assam. The yatra in Assam will last for eight days. Rahul Gandhi will also address two public meetings at Amguri in Sivasagar district and Mariani area in Jorhat district of Assam. Rahul Gandhi will also hold a road show in Amguri and Mariani before the public meeting. The yatra will also pass through Majuli, the largest river island in Assam. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has cancelled his programmes in Jorhat and Dergaon on January 18 and 19 due to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
