Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh — In a fiery address at the Congress party’s convention held at Ravindra Bhawan in Bhopal, senior Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He accused them of systematically undermining the Indian Constitution and eroding democratic institutions.

"A war of ideology is going on. On one side is Congress and the Constitution; on the other are the BJP and RSS, who do not follow it and want to end it," Gandhi said, drawing a clear ideological line between the opposition and the ruling dispensation. He further alleged that the BJP-RSS combine is “taking over all institutions of India and gradually suffocating the nation.”

Gandhi also turned the spotlight on the issue of social justice, reiterating his demand for a nationwide caste census. “In the Lok Sabha, I promised the nation that I will work to get the caste census passed in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha,” he said, positioning it as a key priority for the Congress.

In a controversial remark aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global diplomacy, Gandhi added, “I know the BJP and RSS very well now. If you put a little pressure on them, they become afraid — just like Trump did when he called and said, ‘Narendra, surrender.’”
