Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi launched a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech, accusing him of deflecting responsibility and ignoring critical national issues. Speaking to the media, Chaturvedi stated that the Prime Minister focused more on blaming the Opposition rather than addressing his government's shortcomings.

“Saying things about the Opposition, holding the Opposition responsible for everything, and not speaking about his own responsibilities—that’s what his speech was all about,” Chaturvedi remarked. She pointed to skyrocketing unemployment and inflation, both of which, she claims, have reached record highs under the current administration. “You rendered the youth unemployed, did not double farmers' income as promised, yet there was no mention of any of this,” she added, highlighting the unfulfilled commitments made by the government.

Chaturvedi also criticized what she described as the undermining of democratic institutions such as the judiciary, Election Commission (EC), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Income Tax Department (IT). “Foundational democracy, which includes our judiciary and key institutions, has been compromised under his leadership, but there was no acknowledgment of that in his speech,” she noted.

Further, she accused the Prime Minister of portraying a skewed version of India’s history, suggesting that his speech implied the country's progress began only after his government came to power in 2014. “He spoke as if whatever positive happened in India happened only after 2014. It became a united India only after 2014. We attained independence only after 2014. We became a republic only after 2014. The Constitution came into being only after 2014. This is a blatant disrespect to the founding fathers of our nation,” Chaturvedi said.
