Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh | As the Maha Kumbh 2025 approaches, preparations are underway to accommodate the anticipated influx of devotees. The North Central Railways is enhancing facilities at Prayagraj Railway Station to ensure a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for visitors.
Shashikant Tripathi, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railways, highlighted the significance of these efforts: "Mahakumbh 2025 is approaching, and a large number of devotees will take a dip in the confluence of faith. Many devotees will use railways for transport, especially from Prayagraj and nearby stations, to reach here."
To enhance the spiritual ambiance, the station premises have been adorned with paintings depicting themes related to Kumbh. "We aim to enhance the spiritual experience of devotees visiting Prayagraj by showcasing the ancient eternal tradition of Kumbh," Tripathi noted. He added, "Just as we decorate our homes during festivals, we've adorned our railway stations to reflect our enthusiasm and commitment to serve the guests."
In addition to aesthetic enhancements, significant infrastructural developments are in progress. The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced the construction of 45 new platforms and the operation of 13,000 trains to manage the expected crowd during the event. Furthermore, Japanese-inspired sleeping pods equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, lockers, and bathrooms have been introduced at the station to provide comfort and security to visitors.
