New Delhi: Speaking at the Republic TV Plenary Summit 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the government's decisive actions in eliminating Naxalism from India's forests but cautioned against its rapid spread in urban centers.
"Due to the decisive decisions of the government, Naxalism is being eradicated from the forests today. However, it is now spreading its tentacles in urban areas," PM Modi said. He expressed concern over how quickly Urban Naxalites have expanded their network, influencing political parties that were once ideologically opposed to them.
"Parties that were once inspired by Gandhiji and deeply rooted in Indian traditions are now echoing the voices of urban Naxalites. This shows how deeply they have infiltrated," he warned.
PM Modi asserted that urban Naxalites are staunch opponents of both India's development and cultural heritage, urging citizens to remain vigilant. His remarks highlight the government’s growing focus on countering ideological extremism within urban intellectual and political circles.
