Ahmedabad, June 13 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the site of the devastating Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad on Friday, a day after one of the deadliest air disasters in recent Indian aviation history claimed 241 lives.

The Prime Minister also visited a local hospital to meet Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the crash. Ramesh, an Indian-origin British national, was reportedly seated near the rear of the aircraft and survived with serious injuries. His condition is currently stable, according to hospital officials.
Speaking on the tragedy, PM Modi said he was "stunned" by the incident and deeply pained by the scale of the loss. “It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
