Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a series of major development initiatives in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Saturday. The visit will see the launch and foundation laying of 52 projects worth ₹2,183 crore, underscoring the government’s ongoing focus on infrastructure, agriculture, and welfare.

Among the projects, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 14 completed works amounting to ₹565.35 crore and lay the foundation stone for 38 new projects valued at ₹1,618.10 crore. These initiatives span across key sectors including road development, education, health, sanitation, and tourism — all aimed at boosting the overall quality of life in the region.

A key highlight of the visit will be the nationwide release of the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, benefitting over 9.70 crore farmers across India. In Varanasi district alone, 2.21 lakh farmers are expected to receive the installment, directly credited to their bank accounts.

In addition to the project announcements, the Prime Minister will also distribute assistive devices to divyangjans (persons with disabilities) and senior citizens, as part of the government’s inclusive development agenda.

The day’s events will culminate with PM Modi addressing a public gathering in Banauli village located in the Sevapuri block, where he is expected to highlight the government’s achievements and future vision for rural transformation and farmer welfare.
