Alipurduar, West Bengal – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during a public rally in Alipurduar, accusing the state government of being openly hostile towards the poor, Dalits, backward classes, women, and tribal communities. Modi alleged that the TMC leadership has consistently blocked key central welfare initiatives, particularly the Ayushman Bharat health scheme, depriving millions of vulnerable people in West Bengal of essential healthcare benefits.

"Why is TMC being hostile towards the poor, Dalits, the backward classes, women, and tribals?" the Prime Minister asked, addressing a large gathering. "Unfortunately, the people of West Bengal are not getting the benefits of the Ayushman scheme. The ruthless government didn’t let the people of West Bengal get Ayushman cards."

He further alleged that the state’s refusal to cooperate with the Centre has also delayed the provision of permanent housing for the underprivileged. "Many poor people are not able to get permanent houses because of the TMC government. Their leaders are demanding cut and commission from the poor," Modi claimed, drawing sharp criticism from the crowd.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come in the backdrop of an intensifying election campaign in the state, where the BJP is positioning itself as the party of the poor and marginalised. Modi urged the people to reject what he termed as the TMC's "politics of obstruction and extortion" and to vote for a government that prioritises development and dignity.
