Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said global confidence in India’s artificial intelligence capabilities continues to rise, following a “very productive” meeting with Microsoft Executive Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella. The discussion, he said, centred on India’s expanding digital ecosystem and the opportunities it offers to the world’s leading technology companies.

In a post shared on social media, the Prime Minister expressed happiness over Microsoft’s decision to make its largest-ever investment in Asia in India. He said such a commitment underscores India’s growing prominence as a global technology hub and strengthens the nation’s position in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

“When it comes to AI, the world is optimistic about India,” Modi wrote. “Happy to see India being the place where Microsoft will make its largest-ever investment in Asia. The youth of India will harness this opportunity to innovate and leverage the power of AI for a better planet.”

The Prime Minister said he is confident that the collaboration will accelerate India’s AI-led growth and create new avenues in innovation, skill development and digital transformation.
