BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative stamp and a coin on the 2550th Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav in Bharat Mandapam, Delhi on April 21, Saturday.

While addressing the event, PM Modi stated "Yeh Bharat hi hai jo aham nahi vayam ki sochta hai" (it is Bharat who thinks not just about itself, but for the whole as well). He also emphasized that India is not only the oldest living civilization in the world but also a haven for humanity.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also addressed the event and lauded Lord Mahavir's principles.  He stated "The principle of live and let live is very important and relevant. Anekantavada and Syadvada, these two pillars of our Jain philosophy, have been the subject of discussion among many thinking beings in the world. When the world moves towards tension, these two principles play an important role in reducing tension."
