Ayodhya: In a historic moment for millions of devotees across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday jointly hoisted the saffron flag atop the Shikhar of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple. The ceremonial Dhwajarohan marked the formal completion of the grand temple’s construction—an event awaited for decades and celebrated with devotion across India.
The ceremony, held at the temple complex in Ayodhya, was attended by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who accompanied the Prime Minister and the RSS chief during the proceedings. The hoisting of the flag on the temple’s soaring Shikhar was symbolic of both spiritual fulfilment and the culmination of a long civic, cultural, and judicial journey.
The sacred complex echoed with chants as priests conducted traditional rituals surrounding the Dhwajarohan. The atmosphere remained charged with devotion as thousands of pilgrims and local residents gathered around the temple premises to witness the moment.
