Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated a series of development projects in Churachandpur, Manipur, with a total investment of nearly ₹7,000 crore. The projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, healthcare, education, and facilities for tribal communities in the state’s hill districts.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the name “Manipur” itself carries the word “Mani,” symbolizing a gem that will add to the shine of the entire Northeast in the years to come. He emphasized that the newly launched projects would directly benefit tribal communities by providing better access to health services, educational institutions, and essential civic amenities.
In his remarks, Modi also praised the natural beauty of the region and the resilience of its people. “The land of Manipur is the land of courage and determination. These hills are a priceless gift of nature, and at the same time, they symbolize your continuous hard work. I salute the spirit of the people of Manipur,” he said.
