Chhattisgarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday participated in the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ program in Chhattisgarh, where he interacted with children who have undergone major medical treatments and spoke about compassion, environmental responsibility, and service to humanity.
Highlighting the legacy of Sathya Sai Baba, Modi said, “The 100th year of Sathya Sai Baba has started. There was a scarcity of water around Puttaparthi. There was no water for irrigation or drinking. He worked on it and provided water to 400 villages. Even governments have to plan a lot before doing anything like this.”
Praising Baba’s selfless service, the Prime Minister said such efforts remind everyone of the importance of preserving natural resources. “This gives us a message to preserve water and plant more trees,” he noted.
PM Modi also spoke about his ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree for Mother) campaign, urging citizens to take part by planting a tree in honour of their mothers. “We should plant a tree for our mother. We repay our debt to Mother Earth and to our mothers,” he said.
