Mumbai, May 1 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, positioning India as a powerhouse of global storytelling and digital innovation. Addressing a vibrant gathering of industry leaders, artists, and global content creators, the Prime Minister made a compelling case for India as a creative destination, declaring, “Create in India, Create for the World.”

In his keynote address, PM Modi celebrated India's diverse culture and narrative wealth, describing it as “a nation with over a billion stories waiting to be told.” He urged global creators to tap into the vast reservoir of Indian talent, landscapes, and traditions to craft content with universal appeal.

Highlighting the role of storytelling in shaping perceptions and values, the Prime Minister called for “creative responsibility” in the digital age. He stressed that as content becomes more accessible and borderless, it is vital for creators to uphold cultural integrity and promote harmony.
