New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution during Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court, expressing pride in the nation’s democratic framework and paying homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
“This is the 75th year of the Indian Constitution — it is a matter of immense pride for the country,” said PM Modi. He extended his respects to the framers of the Constitution, saying, “I bow to the Constitution and all the members of the Constituent Assembly.”
The Prime Minister also reminded the nation of the significance of November 26, which coincides with the anniversary of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. “We cannot forget that today is also the anniversary of the terror attack in Mumbai. Those who lost their lives, I pay my homage to them,” he said.
PM Modi reiterated India’s strong stance against terrorism, stating, “I also want to reiterate the resolution of the country — all those terrorist organisations challenging the security of India will get a befitting reply.”
The dual remembrance underscores India’s commitment to its constitutional values and its unyielding resolve to combat terrorism, reinforcing the nation’s pledge to uphold democracy and ensure security.
