VARANASI | Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a large public gathering in Varanasi, emphasized India’s growing prowess in indigenous defence manufacturing under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative. He lauded the performance of domestically developed air defence systems, missiles, and drones, stating that these advancements have significantly strengthened the nation’s strategic capabilities.

“The world has witnessed the power of India's indigenous arms. Our air defence systems, missiles, and drones developed within the country have showcased the strength of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” PM Modi said. He specifically highlighted the BrahMos missile system, terming it a symbol of India’s military deterrence. “The terror of BrahMos missiles is giving sleepless nights to the enemies of India,” he remarked.

In a significant announcement, the Prime Minister informed that Uttar Pradesh will soon become a key hub in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. “As a Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh, I am proud to share that BrahMos missiles will now be manufactured in Uttar Pradesh too. This will not only enhance our defence capabilities but also open new avenues of employment and technological advancement in the state,” he added.
