New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation on economic progress, said that inflation, which was in double digits before 2014, has now dropped to around 2%, bringing major relief to common citizens.

He also stated that 25 crore people have risen out of poverty over the last decade, a development he said is being acknowledged and appreciated by global institutions.

"Today, price stability has brought convenience to people's lives. This achievement reflects the economic discipline and development-oriented governance we have ensured," PM Modi said.
