New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared on social media that he held a productive conversation with Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, highlighting the importance of strengthening India’s strategic partnership with the European Union nation. The leaders discussed a range of global and regional issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
"Had a fruitful conversation with President Alexander Stubb. Finland is an important partner country in the EU. We are committed to elevating our ties," PM Modi tweeted. "Exchanged our perspectives on regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine," he added.
The conversation reflects India’s continued diplomatic outreach amid evolving global geopolitics. Finland, having recently joined NATO and maintaining a strong stance on European security, is seen as a vital voice in regional stability.
India and Finland share strong cooperation in areas such as clean energy, technology, digital innovation, and climate action. The countries have also engaged in frequent dialogue through the India-Nordic framework, focusing on sustainable development and global peace.
