BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed drones among 'Namo Drone Didi' beneficiaries on 11th March, Monday in New Delhi.
Moreover, PM Modi handed over 1,000 drones to Namo Drone Didis in the Sashakt-Nari Viksit Program. Moreover, the drone beneficiaries came from 10 different locations across the country to participate in the program. PM Modi also presented certificates of appreciation to the 'Lakhpati Didis' who benefitted from the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission.
Furthermore, the drones were provided to the Self-help groups. 15,000 Self-Help Groups are connected to the Namo Drone Didi program. The groups will, in turn, train women in rural areas and help them in becoming Drone Pilots.
The Sashakt-Nari Viksit Program saw financial support worth Rs. 10,000 crores being awarded to Self-Help Groups either as bank loans or through Capitalization Support Fund.
