VARANASI | Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public address in Varanasi, emphasized the deep cultural and spiritual significance of connecting with farmers from the sacred land of Kashi. Speaking during the month of Sawan, a period of religious devotion, Modi underlined the importance of agriculture in India’s socio-economic fabric.
“Today, from Kashi, we are connected with lakhs of farmers across the country. In the sacred month of Sawan, standing on the holy land of Kashi and connecting with the nation’s farmers is an immensely fortunate moment,” the Prime Minister said, reiterating his government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the farming community.
Referring to the recent Operation Sindoor, PM Modi mentioned that this was his first visit to Kashi after the operation. He recounted the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, where 26 innocent civilians lost their lives. “That day, I took a vow to avenge the sindoor of my daughters, a symbol of their dignity. Today, I stand before you to say that the promise has been fulfilled,” Modi declared, highlighting the government's decisive military response.
