New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Sanae Takaichi on her election as the new Prime Minister of Japan. In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed optimism about working together to enhance the strong and growing ties between India and Japan.

“I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen the India–Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Our deepening ties are vital for peace, stability, and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific and beyond,” the Prime Minister posted.

Modi’s message underscores the importance of India–Japan relations, particularly in the context of regional cooperation, economic development, and shared democratic values. The two nations have maintained a close partnership in areas such as infrastructure, technology, defense, and clean energy.
