Delhi: Congress leader Pawan Khera on Monday sharply criticized the Union Government over the recent seizure of large quantities of explosives and bomb-making equipment in the National Capital Region, alleging serious lapses in national security and a lack of accountability.

Addressing the media, Khera expressed shock that even six years after the Pulwama terror attack, the government had failed to clarify how 350 kilograms of RDX had reached the region. “It is very surprising and shocking that we have still not received answers as to how 350 kg of RDX reached Pulwama,” he said. “The then Governor Satpal Malik repeatedly raised these questions, yet no explanation was given.”

Referring to the recent discovery of explosives in the NCR, Khera said such incidents highlight a breakdown in the country’s internal security framework. “This shows that the government is a complete failure. Maybe they don’t even know what’s happening under their nose,” he remarked.

He also cited a recent disruption of nearly 800 flights caused by suspected GPS spoofing, which some experts described as a major cyberattack. “Neither the Civil Aviation Minister nor the Home Minister has offered any answers,” Khera said.

Concluding his remarks, Khera asserted that the government’s continued silence has fostered “an atmosphere of fear and apprehension” among citizens. “People are anxious because when questions go unanswered, fear naturally grows,” he said.
