Which party has the most number of candidates with criminal records?

By a staff reporter: In the democratic process of vote, gaining knowledge about the background of contesting candidates is very crucial for voting. As Mizoram is getting ready for assembly polls, a recent analysis shows as to criminal history declarations by candidates across various parties. 174 candidates have been assessed.

National parties: Out of the 67 candidates 2 (which is 3 per cent) have declared criminal cases.

State parties: Out of 40 candidates, 1 (which is three per cent) has declared a criminal case.

Registered unrecognized parties: 4 in 40 candidates are declared having criminal cases.

Independent candidates: Out of 27 candidates none have been declared criminal.
