New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday announced that Parliament has passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, aimed at providing a legal framework for the rapidly growing digital gaming sector.

In a post on social media, Vaishnaw said, “The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025 passed by the Parliament. The Bill takes a balanced approach – promoting what’s good, prohibiting what’s harmful for middle-class and youth.”

The legislation seeks to regulate online gaming platforms, encourage innovation and investment in the industry, and set safeguards to protect players, particularly younger audiences, from potential risks such as addiction or financial exploitation.
