Pargwal, Akhnoor, J&K — Tensions flared along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir during the night of April 29-30, as Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small-arms fire targeting the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors.

Raju Singh, a local resident from Pargwal, described the tense moments as the gunfire began at around 8:30-9 PM. “Three to four rounds were fired last night,” Singh said. “We were doing our work when we got a call to stop everything and go back to our homes. After that, nothing happened.”

The firing lasted for a short period, but it left local residents on high alert, with authorities urging people to stay indoors. The incident is part of a pattern of increasing border skirmishes between India and Pakistan, particularly in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir, which has heightened security concerns.
