New Delhi: AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has extended his support to the Centre’s decision to send seven all-party delegations abroad to raise global awareness about terrorism and Pakistan’s long-standing involvement in sponsoring such activities. Speaking to PTI CEO and Editor-in-Chief Vijay Joshi, Owaisi emphasized the need to present a strong, united Indian narrative to the international community.
“India has been a victim of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism since the era of General Zia-ul-Haq,” Owaisi stated. “We must remind the world of the Kandahar hijacking, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the 2001 Parliament attack, the strikes in Uri and Pathankot, and the more recent killings in Reasi and Pahalgam. These are not just attacks on India—they are threats to humanity.”
While Owaisi said he is not yet informed about which delegation he will be part of or who will chair it, he stressed the importance of unified messaging. “We need to put forth India’s story,” he said.
He also underscored the significance of highlighting India’s pluralistic society in contrast to Pakistan’s attempts to brand itself solely as an Islamic nation. “India has nearly 20 crore Muslims. This must be part of the message. Pakistan cannot claim to speak for Muslims globally,” he asserted.
