Gandhinagar — In a landmark development showcasing the growing role of women in national security, Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Gujarat Frontier, Abhishek Pathak, lauded the contributions of over 800 women personnel during the recently conducted Operation Sindoor along the Indo-Pak border in Gujarat.

Speaking to the media, IG Pathak highlighted the historic scale and significance of women’s participation in this intensive border operation. “There are more than 800 women BSF personnel in Gujarat. During the entire operation, all the women BSF personnel were deployed at the border,” he said, underlining the unprecedented inclusion of women in such a high-stakes security operation.

He made special mention of Assistant Commandants Amandeep and Niti Yadav, who commanded their respective companies in the challenging and strategically sensitive creek area — a terrain known for its difficult navigation and heightened security challenges. “Both women Assistant Commandants led their companies in the most challenging creek area as company commandants,” Pathak stated.
