Delhi: BJP leader Dilip Saikia has reiterated the importance of implementing the 'One Nation, One Election' policy, asserting that the 140 crore citizens of India support the idea of holding Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections simultaneously. Speaking on the subject, Saikia highlighted that the proposal transcends political affiliations and should be seen as a significant step for the nation’s development.

He remarked, "The 140 crore people of India also want the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections to take place simultaneously. People are not viewing 'One Nation, One Election' from a political perspective; it is a matter of national importance."

The BJP leader stressed that simultaneous elections could lead to better governance, reduce the burden on the exchequer, and save valuable time and resources often consumed in repeated election cycles. He also noted that the policy aligns with the public's demand for streamlined and efficient administration.
