Srinagar: Reacting to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s recent statement on taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah challenged the BJP-led central government to act instead of making political statements.

"Who has stopped them? Did we ever stop them?" Abdullah remarked, questioning why the government hasn't taken concrete steps if it truly intends to reclaim PoK. He also accused the BJP of hypocrisy, pointing out their criticism of Congress over the 1965 Haji Pir Pass issue, while failing to act during the 1999 Kargil War when they had an opportunity.

Raising another critical point, Abdullah highlighted that while PoK remains a topic of political discourse, the government rarely addresses the fact that another part of Jammu and Kashmir is under China's control. "Why does no one talk about it?" he asked.
