Brasilia, Brazil — Addressing the BRICS Parliamentary Forum, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, calling it an assault not only on India but on humanity as a whole.

Birla, representing India on the international platform, said, “The recent deaths of 26 innocent people in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir have deeply shocked us. This attack is not just against India, but against all of humanity.”

In a direct reference to Pakistan, Birla stated that the terrorists responsible for the massacre had their bases across the border, and blamed Islamabad for its continued failure to dismantle terror infrastructure operating within its territory.

“As Pakistan failed to take action against the terrorist infrastructure, India exercised its right to respond in order to prevent such attacks from occurring again in the future,” he said.

Defending India’s retaliatory measures, Birla added, “The strikes carried out by the Armed Forces were precise and targeted, aimed specifically at destroying the terrorist infrastructure.”
